Welcome to my website, a loose collection of blogposts, articles, talks, and links to the various things I’m currently involved with.
Before entering teaching I was a contributor to the Blue Labour book and also worked on its close kin, Red Tory – I continue to straddle this divide in my commentary and writing, with a focus on the culture clash in wider society, but particularly how this finds expression in education. I have produced pieces for numerous publications and been involved in various public debates, as well as giving various papers and keynotes, most of which will find their way back here eventually.
I work in the education sector and have experience of teaching and leadership in both primary and secondary age phases, including sixth-form. I work as a director of education for a Catholic Diocese, though all content shared here and elsewhere represent my own views and not necessarily those of my employer.
I live in Cumbria and I am a father of 7 wonderful children, and lucky husband to one wonderful wife. It is for these that I labour.
